Announcement: Due to the HS Softball Regional Game today being postponed and rescheduled for tomorrow (May 17) the Jr. High Cheerleading Tryout Practice for tomorrow (May 17) is being pushed back a day and now will be from 3:30-5:00pm on Thursday, May 18 at SEHS gym.

At the May 8 Track meet in Altamont the Girls 1600 meter relay record was broken with a time of 4:37.94

At the May 8 Track meet in Altamont Freshman Presley Williams broke the Girls 200 meter dash record with a time of 27.01 seconds. Congrats Presley!

Congratulations to Damen Connour for being named Superior Individual at the Illinois State FFA Ag Mechanics CDE. Connour competed in the Welding Division. Connour finished 6th place overall out of 53 schools. He scored a 76 with a score of 80 winning the competition. Damen is a senior and will begin his Underwater Welding Program in Hudson, Florida on July 3, 2023.

Today the seniors in the Horticulture class put the final touches on the landscaping for the outdoor class at the high school!
Today, Derek Hayden of Shelbyville Insurance joined the Ag Business & Introduction to Business classes to discuss the topic of business insurance. Derek discussed with students the different types of insurance available for small businesses and their importance. Students will then utilize this information as they develop their individual business plans. Please check out Derek Hayden’s podcast, “The Central Illinois Business Leaders Podcast”!
