October 9, 2020:
Parents/Guardians:
At a special meeting of the Board of Education on October 8th, changes in the current back-to-school plan were approved. Please see below:
Jr. High/High School: Currently, at the Jr. High/High School, students have been receiving in-person instruction 2 days each week and remote instruction 3 days each week. Beginning November 2nd, students will be attending in-person 4 days each week, with the 5th day being remote learning for all students. Please note….we realize that there will be an increased chance of students being quarantined; however, we also feel that in-person instruction is the best environment in which students learn. If you are not comfortable sending your child for in-person instruction, please contact the school office, as we are offering the full “Remote Instruction” option.
Elementary School: A Remote Learning teacher was approved for employment, and students will begin in-person instruction 5 days each week, with the exception of the previously approved Remote Learning Days (Oct. 30th and Nov. 20th). Due to other legal holidays in the calendar, the first 5-day week will actually be the week of November 30th.
All Students: Any student choosing the full Remote Instruction option will be allowed to return to in-person instruction on the 1st and the 15th of each month.
The current school calendar has 2 days (Oct. 30th and Nov. 20th) as Remote Learning Days for all students. We will keep these days for remote learning for all grade levels.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to strive to do what is best for our students and our staff. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Julie Healy, Superintendent
