Athletics Community Ed For Staff For Students Student Grades Menus School Board

Free Breakfast & Lunch for K-12 Students: The Healthy Hunger Free Kids Act has made eating lunch & breakfast for free available for our K-8 students.  K-6 was eligible for this program for the last two years.  Junior High was added at the start of this year.  Due to changes in the program it will now be made available for our high school students also.  Starting October 1, all K-12 students in the St. Elmo School District will be able to eat breakfast & lunch for free.  Any lunch fees paid by HS parents will be reimbursed back to the start of this school year.  However, eligibility for the free meals does not automatically allow free textbook waivers.  Parents must still apply for textbook fee waivers.  Also, if students take a second milk for lunch or breakfast, parents will be billed for the additional milk.  Letters to parents will be mailed this week explaining the program.
